One of the few Cannon films I had not yet seen, and one of the few Cannon films with an all star cast. But, one-third of the way through i found myself wanting to give up. I also found myself cringing consistently- Michael Caine's character is so awkward that it's creepy. There is no possible way spoiler alert that he could've gotten laid with such dialogue. With the given summary, there is some serious potential. But the movie falters from the start, plunging deeper as it progressses.
Tweet In my mind I visualize a Hollywood story conference where everybody is laughing. Here's the story being told: Michael Caine is a rich author who has been taken to the cleaners in two divorces and a palimony suit. He hates women so much he wants to move to a country where they are flogged. Then he finds true love. At a charity benefit, robbers break in, force everyone to strip and abscond with the jewelry after tying Caine and Sally Field together, naked.
Hell literally breaks loose. This resulted in an edit that ran just over two hours, but the lack of time to finesse it resulted in slack pacing, unfinished effects sequences and a terrible sound edit. Then there was the gore. Oh yes, the gore.
Over those forty years, Star Wars grew to include numerous sequels, prequels, spin-offs, animated series, and video games of widely varying quality , and the brand is showing no signs of slowing down. The most recent film in the saga, Rogue One , brought in over one billion dollars at the global box office. So whatever happened to the folks who starred in those first three space movies? This is Where Are They Now? Prowse stood at 6'5", establishing Vader as an intimidating force to be reckoned with.
