The mission is to bring together those who are interested in health issues that affect the Asian-American community to have a strong, collective, public, and political voice. LGBTQ Meds is dedicated to raising awareness of queer health issues and promoting equal social and political rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people. The Student National Medical Association SNMA mission is to improve the quality of healthcare by working to increase the number of culturally competent and socially conscious physicians, while also addressing the needs of underserved communities of color. Stanford University Minority Medical Alliance SUMMA is a coalition of Stanford medical student organizations with the goal to increase diversity in the health professions in order to better care for underserved communities. In this lunch talk series, students will explore the interaction of Asian-American culture and the practice of medicine, through personal and professional perspectives and narractives of physicians and others in healthcare. A lecture series that features seminars on the intersection of women, sexual and gender minorities, and health. An opportunity for students, trainees, faculty and staff to explore current topics that impact Stanford Medicine's mission areas including lectures on diversity, equity, and inclusion topics.

Disparities in Medical Education : In , APAMSA conducted a national study [1] to reveal racial and ethnic disparities in medical school grades during clinical years. The study demonstrated that minorities receive lower grades than white medical students. This study served to show the possibility that cultural factors may play a role in medical school grades during clinical years.
